Since this year, the state has intensively introduced laws and regulations related to the protection of personal information, and WeBank has actively responded to the state’s call by proposing the Distributed Data Transfer Protocol (DDTP) based on blockchain technology with its foresight in blockchain technology research, and exploring a distributed data transfer model that is led by the individuals’ initiative. DDTP explores a distributed data transfer model led by individuals, and proposes a path for the realization of the right to portability of personal information in China.

As early as May 2020, a scenario-based solution consistent with the core mechanism of DDTP was successfully applied to the Guangdong-Macao Health Code Cross-border Mutual Recognition Project, which is supported by blockchain open source technology provided by WeBank. The project allows users to bring their own declared personal health information and uplink it through verifiable digital certificates to realize cross-border data validation and health code mutual recognition and exchange. At present, the project has supported the smooth clearance of hundreds of millions of people.
