On September 8, 2021, the launch of “Zhuhai-Macao Pass” APP and the inaugural meeting of Zhuhai-Macao Cross-border Digital Service Alliance were held in Zhuhai. This is an innovative practice for Guangdong and Macao to strengthen the convergence of rules and mechanisms, accelerate cross-border data flow, jointly promote the cross-border digital service system, and explore the establishment of cross-border open, cooperative, and exemplary digital service integration after the official release of the “Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone Construction Overall Plan”.

A cross-border digital service alliance initiated by the Zhuhai Municipal Services Data Management Bureau and the Zhuhai Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Bureau was also formally established at the meeting to explore and innovate in the areas of cross-border application of new technologies and digital government services, resource sharing and professional co-operation between Zhuhai and Macao, with a view to further tapping into and releasing the potential of the integration of digital services in Zhuhai and Macao.
